Julie JohnsonArtist and FounderLife Science Studios was founded by biologist and artist, Julie Johnson. Julie received her B.A. in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley in 2007 and her M.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCLA in 2011. She has also completed research internships at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and Friday Harbor Labs. She now works as a fish illustrator for Dr. Walter Salzburger's lab at Universität Basel, Switzerland. Julie started Life Science Studios as a way to bring together art and science. It has grown into a business that focuses on helping biologists better communicate their research by making science more accessible through beautiful imagery. Because Julie started out as a biologist, she loves working with new clients as a way to discover cool new systems and learn more about the discoveries that excite her clients.
